Healthy Sides Broccoli with Butter Sauce

This recipe is great for any side dish for lunch or dinner. It’s easy to make and it tastes great, maybe even the picky kids will love it too.

I found this recipe from an Irish recipe book because my family and I love to try food from all around the world. It’s great to try new things!

  • 2 lbs. organic broccoli
  • 5 oz. organic butter
  • 51/2 oz. organic milk
  • 1cup organic flour
  • 5 drops lemon
  • sea salt and pepper to taste

Boil the orgnic broccoli in salted water for 10-12 minutes until soft. In pan melt organic butter, add organic flour slowly while stirring the whole time then gradually add

the organic milk and stir, add lemon drops. Simmer for 5 minutes then pour mixture over the orgainc broccoli add sea salt and pepper to taste.

More Healthy Choices at Starbucks!

Healthy choices at Starbucks for kids and adults!

My kids love to get drinks from Starbucks and I used to let them get whatever they wanted and what they loved was the

Double Chocolaty Chip Frappuccino® Blended Crème  until I decided to check the Starbucks Nutrition Guide to see what they were actually drinking.

I was horrified to know that I was allowing my kids to consume 510 Calories, 170 Fat Calories, 19(g) Total Fat , and 11(g) Saturated Fat !

For one drink that’s outrageous! When I saw that I said, "OK guys, you can only get the Double Chocolaty Chip Frappuccino® Blended Crème maybe once or twice a year."

They didn’t mind too much, they now get the Tazo® Black Shaken Iced Tea which is a much healthier choice and has only 80 Calories, 0 Fat Calories, 0 (g) Total Fat, and

0 (g) Saturated Fat. So that’s much better, don’t you think?

I’ve compiled a list of 10 healthy Starbucks drinks all under 200 calories. Here’s to your healthy drink choices.

The Benefits of Flax Seed

Flax seed has many benefits including lowering total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol (the Bad cholesterol) levels, and may also help to lower blood triglyceride and blood pressure.

It also keeps platelets from becoming sticky which reduces the risk of a heart attack.

Flax seed is also rich in lignan which is a type of antioxidant and it also provides fiber.

Include flax seed in your diet by adding to your cereal and salads. You can also substitute flax seed oil for any other oil.

My husband had high LDL cholesterol and he went to the doctor and was on medication for a month and during that time I was sneaking flax seed into a lot of his food and after one month his cholesterol levels had dropped drastically.

He hasn’t taken any medication since and I continue to add flax seed to his food any chance I get.
It tastes really great too. It has a nutty taste which is great for almost anything!
