Acorn Squash Recipe

I found a good recipe for Acorn Squash and it’s so simple to make.

Cut Squash in half lengthwise and deseed. Add one tablespoon of butter and a couple teaspoons of brown sugar, put about an inch of water in a baking pan with squash and bake for a hour on 350.

We had this for  the other night and it turned out really yummy! This is also great for the winter.

Here’s A Picture

This is my son, Mylles and I at our church banquet. We had a great time watching a play, singing, and listening to a wonderful preacher (Prophet Sparks).

I think my son’s favorite part was the food! Every time I was looking for him I found him at the buffet getting more and more food.

He ate quite a bit, I guess he’s a growing boy. He has a healthy balance of exercise too.

He is a orange stripe in Judo and he plays outside every day for at least three hours, he barely even asks to play video games, (thank God),  and he’s usually running everywhere he goes.

I think we just need a little more balance in the candy area and he’ll be good to go.

This is just an example of what I was talking about in my last post as being a parent you have to be the one to take control of what your kids are doing, eating, and not doing.

I will talk about my daughters in a later post.

Do Your Kids Get Enough Exercise?

A lot of kids are now considered obese. That’s really sad.

You see all these kids on the talk shows who are severly overweight and their parents think they have nothing to do with it.

Are you serious?

I do believe that people can have a predisposition to weight gain but the environment they live in has just as much to do with it.

If you think that by letting your kids do whatever they want and eat whatever they want you’re doing them a favor, You’re wrong!

Of course they want to sit around the house all day playing video games, wathing tv, eating fries, hamburgers, and chips, but that’s where the parents come in.

They have to regulate what they eat, how much they eat, how long they’re in front of the tv and how long they’re in the house just sitting around doing nothing.

They’re kids they’ll do what they like all day and not have a problem with it because they don’t know the dangers.

So it’s up to the parents to take control of their kids and make them do some kind of exercise, anything to get them moving.

Who knows they might just find out they like other things to do besides eating and sitting!
